Research Trip (2019)

In January of 2019, I had the opportunity to travel to Honolulu, Hawaii for 3 days, following by a stay on Palmyra for 5 days!  While in Honolulu I gave a talk at the Nature Conservancy office, and visited a number of research institutions, gathering new material for the archive.  While on Palmyra, I was able to photograph, document, and experience the history I had spent so long studying.

I am incredibly grateful to the Nature Conservancy and US Fish and Wildlife Service for their generosity and for inviting me out to experience what I consider the most beautiful and interesting place on the planet.  They have done amazing work revitalizing Palmyra, and continue to protect and preserve it.
