Description

This etching was done by William Glasgow in 1930, according to its markings and notations. This particular print was purchased at a fundraiser for the Oakland Museum of California in approximately 2010. The etching was used in the introduction to the book The Travels of Jedediah Smith, published in 1934.

Glasgow was most known for his work as an Art Director in Hollywood during the 1950's and 1960's. In the early 1940s, one of his paintings was hung in the lobby of the hotel built on Palmyra for airmen to use on their way to the Pacific front.
